Most of EnergyUp’s website is intended for girls, ages 13 – 21, and is built on the principle that information is a positive thing for all Teens and Young Adults. We created www.EnergyUp.org to be an alternative to traditional teen magazines and websites, and our site strives to present a variety of experiences that are relevant to youths above the age of 13. Because of this, EnergyUp sometimes contains mature content dealing with sexuality, body image, emotions, self-destructive behavior, etc. This honesty is part of what makes our site resonate with our audience, while providing the guidance and wisdom for our girls to be Fit, Fabulous and Fierce!!

We recognize that not every teen is ready to deal with these issues at the same age. If you feel that your daughter is not ready to deal with mature content at her age, we suggest you direct her to another site.

www.EnergyUp.org and all of its services are in compliance with The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This FTC regulation restricts the personal information we can collect from individuals under the age of 13, which is why we make 13 the minimum age to become a member of EnergyUp’s online social network. It is important for parents to understand the laws that regulate children's activity on the Internet.

Anyone who joins EnergyUp.org must agree to treat all other members with respect, and we enforce this basic rule in our posting areas of the site. We monitor the boards as often as we can and encourage our members to send us an email if there are any problems. However, since every area cannot be monitored 24 hours a day, there can be uncensored spaces.

Here are additional steps to take to ensure your child’s safety on social networking sites:

• Make sure she never gives out personal information on the Internet.
• Many email services will allow her to use address blocking so that she only receives mail from people she knows.

Our system is designed to restrict children under the age of 13 from becoming members of EnergyUp.org and using our site.
